“My fiancé Josh and I got engaged at Hobbiton, New Zealand in 2024…”

When they first told me their story, I was already swooning.

Getting engaged at Hobbiton Movie Set sounds like something straight out of a fairytale — rolling green hills, golden light, and a moment you’ll never forget. But what I loved most about them wasn’t just the epic proposal location… it was how grounded and joy-filled they were together.

“We love spending time at the beach and forests.”

They’re the kind of couple who feel most at home outdoors — barefoot on the sand, wandering through forests, chasing light as the sun sets.

So when it came time to plan their engagement photoshoot, it had to reflect them.

We ended up choosing the stunning Tallebudgera Creek.

And it couldn’t have been more perfect.

Soft sand. Clear water. Coastal bushland. And so dreamy on an overcast day.

With their wedding planned for March 2026, they wanted more than just beautiful photos.

      They told me:

“We thought getting some photos before the wedding would help us feel comfortable in front of the camera — and we can use them for our invites.”

And honestly? That’s one of the best reasons to book an engagement session.

      An engagement photoshoot gives you:

      • A chance to feel relaxed and confident before your wedding day
      • Professional images for save-the-dates and wedding invitations
      • Time to connect without the timeline pressure of a wedding
      • Beautiful, natural photos that reflect this exciting season

By the time your wedding arrives, you already know how I work, how I guide you, and how effortless it can feel.

From the very beginning, their session felt easy. Playful. Full of laughter.

They weren’t afraid to move, to run, to get their feet sandy. And when I suggested jumping into the water?

      They didn’t hesitate.

Those ended up being some of my favourite images from their Gold Coast engagement photoshoot — carefree, connected, completely in the moment. The kind of photos that feel like memories instead of poses.

That’s always my goal with engagement photography. Not stiff or overly styled. Just genuine connection in a beautiful location.

When I sent through the gallery to Sarah and Josh, this is what they emailed back:

“Trang! These are absolutely beautiful! We couldn’t have asked for better photos. Thank you again for making the experience so enjoyable for us. You’ve definitely made us more comfortable being in front of the camera for our wedding.”

If you’re recently engaged and dreaming of an engagement photoshoot that feels natural, romantic and true to you, the Gold Coast offers some of the most breathtaking backdrops — from beaches like Tallebudgera Creek to lush hinterland forests.

Whether you’re planning a wedding or just got engaged last week, an engagement session is the perfect way to celebrate this season.

Because this chapter — the “fiancé” chapter — is short. And so incredibly special.

If you’re looking for a Gold Coast or Brisbane engagement photographer who will help you feel relaxed, adventurous and completely yourselves, I’d love to help tell your story.
