For couples dreaming of a simple Brisbane elopement, Kimberley and Owen’s wedding day is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful celebrations are the most intimate.

When Kimberley first reached out, she shared a message that captured the heart of their story:

“Owen and I met a few years ago (later in life but no doubt at the perfect time) and have since had a beautiful baby (Owen also has a son). We would like a simple and elegant wedding with just ourselves, a celebrant, witness and photographer in attendance. We would like photography of the ceremony and afterwards in the same area.”

      Their vision was clear:
A relaxed, meaningful ceremony without the pressure or complexity of a traditional wedding.

Why Wilson’s Outlook is Perfect for a Brisbane Elopement

Wilson’s Outlook is one of Brisbane’s hidden gems for couples planning an intimate wedding or elopement.

Perched above the river in New Farm, it offers stunning views across the city skyline, the Brisbane River, and the Story Bridge. For couples wanting an iconic Brisbane backdrop without the crowds of larger venues, it’s an ideal location.

For Kimberley and Owen, it created a beautiful setting that felt both private and quintessentially Brisbane. They were married by Jamie Eastgate from With Love Brisbane City Celebrants. It was an honour to not only be there to capture their special day, but also be one of their official witnesses.

Their ceremony was quiet, heartfelt, and deeply personal—exactly what they had imagined.

Wandering Through Howard Smith Wharves for Photos

After the ceremony, we took a short walk down to Howard Smith Wharves, which is one of my favourite places in Brisbane for post-elopement photos.

The area is incredible for photography because it offers so many different looks within just a few minutes’ walk:

      • Elegant European-style landscaping with olive trees
      • Chic cafe and restaurants
      • Lush greenery along the river
      • Playful backdrops with cactus gardens and palm trees
      • Stunning views directly under the Story Bridge

Kimberley and Owen simply strolled, laughed, and soaked in the moment together while we captured their first photos as a married couple.

      Celebratory Drinks at Mr Percival’s

To finish their wedding day, they headed to Mr Percival’s for a relaxed celebratory drink.

Perched right over the river beneath the Story Bridge, it’s one of the best spots in Brisbane to toast a newly married adventure.

      No reception.
      No seating chart.
Just great views, a drink together, and the excitement of the future ahead.
