Gizem and Joseph’s intimate elopement/ wedding during Covid-19 times was a story that I will definitely remember. Gizem and Joseph phoned me the afternoon before their elopement to book in photography! THE AFTERNOON BEFORE! That was a new record for us at Still Wild Love… usually couples book us a year in advance so it was such a rush of excitement.
Gizem and Joseph explained to me that things have been a little stressful due to Covid-19. Their rings which they had ordered still hadn’t arrived. Gizem’s veil delivery was also delayed. They found out last minute that their flights which were due for a couple weeks after their elopement to Turkey had been cancelled and the only flight available would be the day after the elopement, so the day before their elopement, they were madly trying to pack their entire apartment up as they were moving.
They hadn’t planned to have any photos taken as all their family were overseas and due to Covid-19 restrictions they weren’t planning to have anyone attend their ceremony. However, restrictions lifted just before their planned elopement and so last minute they invited some close friends, and had their ceremony streamed live for their family in Turkey and the UK.
Despite the whirlwind last minute organisation… everything was just wonderful on the day. Cara from Brisbane Wedding Decorators set up a gorgeous ceremony for them last minute. Gizem’s veil arrived that morning! And they were able to organise some last minute rings.
It was such a joyful and intimate ceremony for the couple, Brisbane displayed a stunning afternoon for the two for them to enjoy before departing the next day for Turkey.
Here are some of the photos from their day.
