Sachi and Wes were meant to get married at Wes’ parent’s property in Tasmania. But with Covid-19 restriction and interstate flying not possible, they decided to still go ahead with exchanging vows here in Brisbane and celebrate with family in Japan and Tasmania once it’s safe to do so.

I was so honoured to be one of their witnesses ( weddings of only 5 people permitted at this time). Sachi and Wes exchanged personal vows on the Lover’s Jetty at Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. They had written their vows the night before their elopement, together but sparately, on cards that they will keep as memento and reminder of the vows they make for many years to come. I love this idea taking the cards out each anniversary and reading them.

I was so excited when they said they wanted me to take them on an adventure nearby after their intimate ceremony. They had only moved to Brisbane just before lockdown and hadn’t had the opportunity to explore their new hometown. I took them around to some of my favourite spots around Mount Coot – tha and we had so much fun.

I asked what they had planned for that evening, how they would be celebrating. They said they would just have an intimate dinner for two a home, and lots and lots of CAKE. Sachi had baked her own wedding cake, and she said she went a bit overboard from pinterest inspos and ended up baking a cake that was big enough for an actual wedding party. So it will look like they will be eating wedding cake for a week!

Later that night they sent me the cutest photo of them with the biggest smiles, eating this beautifully personalised white, massive cake.

What a beautiful intimate day… so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet these two sweet souls and to capture this special day for them.

Big thank you also to Jamie from Brisbane City Celebrants for conducting such a wonderful intimate ceremony.
