When couples book us to photograph their wedding, they usually meet us at our home or we FaceTime. When Wendy and Phillip came over to our home to talk to us about their wedding… we ended up spending hours talking about our mutual love for food and cooking… after a few glasses of wine… and it was nearly midnight!!
Not long before their wedding day, they decided they wanted to have an adventure shoot with me. They picked me up and we headed to Emu Mountain at the Sunshine Coast. I loved hearing their stories of their young love and how they’ve grown together. How they used to live long distances but made sure they saw each other every day and they have never been apart for more than a few days. And when we got to the topic of food again… I felt my heart melt as I watched and heard the two of them compliment and prop each other up. Wendy gushing to me about Phillip’s amazing lasagna and Vietnamese beef noodle soup and Phillip was quick to inform me how perfect Wendy’s wonton noodle soup is.
Here are a few frames from their engagement shoot. As I am writing this after their wedding, I can tell you what their gifts to each other on their wedding day was! They both chose their personal favourite photo from their engagement shoot, had it printed and framed and wrapped up. So on the wedding day it was still a surprise to find out which photo each chose, but it was also a mutual decision that they wanted gifts of memories to fill their home. I love this idea!!!
