Kostas and I flew to New Zealand to document the amazing wedding of Johanna and Jason! Despite the lovebirds calling Brisbane home, they decided to tie the knot in stunning style close to Johanna’s home town in New Zealand. Their chosen venue was Terrace Downs which not only provided the perfect backdrop for the ceremony and reception but also accommodation for all the guests to easily go home from after the celebrations!
The morning started out frosty and the boys went out onto the field for a few rounds of clay shooting. But by midday, the weather started warming up and the Sun was shining beautifully.. could have mistaken it for Brisbane weather!
One of my favourite parts at the ceremony, was when Johanna and Jason had a friend each to read out their versions of met. The way the stories were told was witty, moving and memorable.
As a surprise and gift to all their guests – many who had traveled quite far to attend the wedding, they had organised Mt Hutt Helicopters to take the guests on scenic tours while the bridal party were having their photos taken! How awesome!
Flying in a helicopter and landing on top of a snow capped mountain was a first for the couple and for ourselves, and we were so thrilled to have experienced this with them. Johanna wore a vibrant red cape which just stood out magnificently against the white snow. Occasionally a helicopter with guests would past by, it would have been such an experience for them as well to be able to part take in such an adventure.
To get the party started, Johanna and Jason did an amazing choreographed first dance to “Never Tear Us Apart” by INXS – it was all just too good!!
Yo and Bon, thank you so so much for taking us on this adventure
